The mission of Katy's Kids is to provide support in a safe place where children, teens, young adults and their families grieving a death can share their experiences.
Katy's Kids provides peer support groups for grieving children, and was founded in 2015. It is a child-centered program offering peer support groups to grieving families in our community. We utilize creative expression, play and communication as tools to foster well-being.
We provide peer support, educational materials about children and grief and training opportunities to local community members. Our training and model is based on that of The Dougy Center, the National Center for Grieving Children and Families.
Katy's Kids relies on the generosity of individuals, businesses and foundations. We receive no government funding and are supported entirely by private donations. We never charge families for our services.
